Bio
I am an academic researcher in economics and finance. My main research interests are behavioral economics, ethical decision making, and religion-morality relationship. In my doctoral study in Islamic economics and finance at Istanbul Zaim University I have developed a multi-stage methodology integrating grounded theory (GT), large language model (LLM)-assisted qualitative analysis, and agent-based modeling (ABM) to develop a theoretical framework for religio-moral agency.
I hold a master's degree in business administration from Schulich School of Business, York University, and a non-thesis master's degree in management of information systems from Istanbul Technical University where I also completed my undergraduate degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
Before turning to academia, I worked for more than a decade in the manufacturing industry, in product development and R&D, mostly servicing automotive and major consumer sectors. My professional experience includes project management, advanced product quality planning, statistical process control, and enterprise resource management systems.
I volunteer for NGOs and am particularly interested in social innovation and social impact assessment.
I recently completed my commissioning as a visiting researcher at Durham University Business School, conducting a research project on developing a theoretical framework for and agent-based modeling of religio-moral agency in decision-making, funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
I am committed to producing research that bridges theory and practice, and eager to apply this synthesis of practical experience and innovative academic inquiry to complex policy challenges.
